Spring Awakening
Teenagers have always dealt with the same problems thoughout history, and with this production of Spring Awakening, we emphasized the punk rock-meets-Victorian undertones. I used period silhouettes with modern fabrics, patterns and colors for the children and kept the adults in fully period looks with some modern touches. Inspired by early prosthetic face masks used by soilders wounded in war, leather masks held on by eye glasses or by other means were utilized to distinguish each different adult character from the next. Produced by University of California, Irvine.
